Beneath Water - Mike Mains and the Branches
"Hold me underneath the water
Until the old me dies and slips
Out of this body
And make me new again”
How amazing is it that we serve an everlasting God that’s willing to change us to a new form at any second? I think I take that gift for granted a lot. How does God not ever tire? How does he not get sick of us, repeatedly sinning against him?
Mike sings, “Maybe I am the writer that will spark the flame”
God can take me out of any spot, any hole, any crack, and make me a better person. You want to know what’s even cooler? Even after he’s saved me, He keeps on saving. Becoming a Christian doesn’t start and end all in the same second, it’s a journey and a challenge. There’s the gift I was talking about again. I can mess up and screw up and fess up. God will always forgive me and love me just as He did when He first saw me in my mother’s womb. He didn’t forget how many hairs are on the top of my head, He’s still washing away the sins.
The even cooler part?
It’s not just my sins. It’s yours too.
God’s love is meteoric,
his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
slips through the cracks.
